Laurier University Women's Hockey

I posted the net shots from Friday nights games but I also wanted to share some of the non-net camera pictures from the game.

I absolutely loved this shot.  The Windsor player pushed her way through two defenders on her way to the puck.  While she didn't score it was a great play.

The Laurier player dug the puck out of the corner, then spotted her teammate waiting in the slot in front of the net.  The pass was perfect, but the goalie made a great save.  I like the fact that her head is up and she is looking for the pass.

The Laurier player here gets a penalty for tripping, even though she was carrying the puck down the ice and slammed the brakes on.  The defender got caught up and fell.  The fans in the stands were not pleased with that call in a tight game.

While there is no body checking in women's hockey, there is the odd "rub out".  Check out the faces on these two as the Windsor player tries to put the Laurier player in to the boards.

I hope you enjoy!

Trevor
